Alison Barrett
Registered Psychotherapist (RPQualifying)
Master’s in Counselling Psychology
Alison supports adolescents (14+), individual adults, and couples experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, relationship conflict, infidelity, communication difficulties, attachment wounds, self-esteem concerns, stress, burnout, and major life transitions.
Alison integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based approaches, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients better regulate emotions, deepen self-awareness, and build healthier, more secure relationships. Her work focuses on helping clients understand what is happening beneath the surface of their reactions, reconnect with their needs and emotions, and develop more compassionate and effective ways of relating to themselves and others.
In addition to her clinical experience, Alison has completed specialized training in Foundations of Mental Wellness, Maternal Mental Health and Pregnancy, Emotional Eating and Body Image, her Women’s Mental Health Specialization, and an Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy Externship. She is currently completing Level 1 Gottman Couples Therapy training and her Attachment Trauma Treatment Specialist Certification.
Alison believes therapy should feel grounding, collaborative, and deeply human. She is committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered in their healing process.
